ConservationWalks Is A Program That Empowers Students, Corporations, Community Groups, And Anyone Interested In The Natural World To Raise Funds And Awareness For Biodiversity Conservation Through Nature Hikes.
 
The ConservationWalks Intern Will Research And Contact Prospective Organizations And Participants For ConservationWalks, Including Student Conservation Organizations, Corporations, And Community Groups. The Intern Will Serve As A Point Of Contact For The Prospective Organizations Throughout The Internship, And Be Responsible For Communicating The Needs Of ConservationWalks Organizers Back To The Development Associate, Answering Questions, Providing Resources And Support, And Helping The Organizations To Host Successful ConservationWalks. The Intern Will Work Closely With The Development Associate And Development Director.
 
The Internships May Qualify For College Credit And Are Non-paid.  Interns Can Work From The NatureServe Office Or Remotely With Frequent Conference Calls And Email Communications.  NatureServe Will Provide Detailed Recommendations For Interns Who Exceed Expectations And Will Consider Selected Interns For Full-time Paid Positions Within The Organization.
 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 
  1. Assist With Research, Identification, Cultivation, And Support Of ConservationWalks Organizers.
  2. Strengthen Relationships Between NatureServe And ConservationWalks Organizers Through Regular Communications.
  3. Keep Accurate And Updated Records Of Communications.
  4. Communicate Information About ConservationWalks On NatureServe Social Media Channels.
  5. Provide Timely And Accurate Follow-up For ConservationWalks Organizers.

  1. Exceptional Written And Oral Communication Skills.
  2. Excellent Grammar, Spelling, Editing And Proofreading Skills. 
  3. Polished Public Speaking And Presentation Skills.
  4. Ability To Work Well With A Wide Variety Of People And Be A Team Player. Employs Effective Listening Skills, Diplomacy, And Tact.
  5. Demonstrated Ability To Manage Projects And Coordinate The Work Of Other Staff.
  6. Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks In A Poised, Efficient, And Effective Way With Attention To Detail.
  7. Well-organized And Able To Keep Records Up-to-date And Accurate.
  8. Advanced Problem-solving Abilities And A Positive “can-do” Attitude.
  9. Able To Provide Thoughtful Feedback On Projects.
