Defenders Of Wildlife Offers Part-Time Virtual Internship Positions In Our Climate Change Program For Highly Qualified Individuals With A Commitment To A Career In Wildlife Conservation.

Defenders Climate Change Program Focuses On Wildlife Adaptation- Advancing Policies And Practices To Assist Wildlife And Ecosystems Cope With The Impacts Of Climate Change. Given The Fast-changing Nature Of Climate Change Science And Policy, Defenders Is Seeking Assistance In Research And Materials Preparation.  These Internships Are An Opportunity To Work Closely With Seasoned Conservation Professionals On A Range Of Experience On Conservation And Climate Change Adaptation Issues Of National Significance. We Ask That Interns Are Able To Dedicate At Least 10 Hours A Week Towards Project Work.  Intern Location Is Flexible As Communication With Our Office Can Be Done Remotely.

Applicants Should Be Current Students With An Interest In Environmental Conservation. We Can Work With Interns To Earn Academic Credit, If Appropriate At Intern’s Home Institution. Interns Must Have Strong Writing, Research, Media, And Communication Skills, And Demonstrate A Commitment To The Conservation Of Biological Diversity And Protection Of Wildlife. Internships Are Unpaid.

Responsibilities:
·       Research And Analyze Scientific Literature On The Impacts Of Climate Change On Wildlife And Habitat And Adaptation Strategies.
·       Analyze Agency Documents Related To Climate Change, And Land And Wildlife Management And Prepare Comment Letters
·       Develop Reports, Factsheets, Webpage Content, And Other Outreach Materials.

Qualifications: Strong Background In Environmental Studies, Conservation Biology, Natural Resources, Or Related Fields Is Required. GIS Skills Preferred, But Not Required.
